Gray Background is a companion exhibition to “Why is the salaryman carrying a surfboard?” in collaboration with Tokyo-based art installation collective, Filio. The installation displayed photos taken over several years as well as physical objects that represent the blurry middleground between America and Japan as a way to share the experience of living in multiple cultures.
「グレー背景・Gray Background」は、東京を拠点とするアート・インストール業社フィリオ社とのコラボレーションによる『サラリーマンはなぜサーフボードを抱えるのか？』の関連展示企画である。このインスタレーションでは、多文化の中で生活する経験を共有するために、数年間にわたって撮影された写真や、アメリカと日本の間の曖昧な中間領域を表す物理的なオブジェクトが展示された。
